When you look at your pet cat, you probably see her as a sweet, cuddly little feline who knows nothing but purr, sleep and eat. Of course we love cats because they are soft and cute but do you know that your cat is also hiding some purr-sonal secrets?

Cute and cuddly as cats may be, do you know that there are people who are afraid of these sweet creatures? Their names are all over history books; you might think that it’s a little weird. Who would think that the mighty (and you would have thought, fearless) Greek conqueror Alexander the Great had ailurophobia (fear of cats)?

Some people say that they prefer cats in lieu of dogs because cats are way cleaner. Indeed, from what we’ve gathered, cats spend 1/3 of their waking time cleaning up. They might look lazy for they spend 2/3 of their lives sleeping but they are quite meticulous when it comes to grooming.

Like humans, cats sleep as a way to facilitate physical growth. It has been reported that a certain growth hormone in cats is being released during sleep. So when your cat is peacefully sleeping, she’s not being lazy; she’s just busy growing up!

Your cute little friend also takes pride in being worshipped (she’s probably smirking at you by now). During the ancient times in Egypt, Egyptians used to worship cats as deities. They considered your sweet feline friend as a sacred animal. And guess what? Some Egyptians still do so until today!
