Colonel Meow’s Diaries – A Rise To Power

Meet Colonel Meow, a male Himalayan–Persian crossbreed cat who became an internet celebrity after his owners posted pictures of his scowling face on Facebook and Instagram. He was known by his thousands of followers (which he calls his ‘minions’) as an adorable and fearsome dictator, a prodigious Scotch drinker and the angriest cat in the world. Colonel Meow also holds the 2014 Guinness world record for the longest fur on a cat (nine inches). Guess he was also the fluffiest cat in the world! Sadly, the colonel passed away on January 2014. The furry dictator is still missed by his minions up to this day.

Colonel Meow was originally rescued from the streets by the Seattle Persian and Himalayan Rescue group and was later adopted at Petco by Anne Marie Avey who soon became known as his “Slave Beast”. LOL. However, the world’s angriest cat did have a gentle side; just like any dictator, deep down he wants to be loved. Col. Meow liked to be held, and to take long naps. Unexpectedly, his best friend was a Golden Retriever named Boots.

In November 2013, Colonel Meow was “hospitalized” due to heart problems and underwent a surgery as well as a blood transfusion. He was able to survive that ordeal but was gone a couple of months later. He might not have lived long but for a brief time, he truly was the world’s Cat Colonel.
