The Joys Of Fostering Rescued Cats & Kittens

Fostering cats means you take care of cats temporarily, letting them live in your home and providing all of their needs until they are adopted. Through fostering, you provide great service not only to shelters and rescue groups but to the animals as well. Today, shelters are overflowing and many companion animals need to be put down due to overcrowding. Fostering is needed now more than ever.

There are a lot of reasons why a cat needs foster care. First (and most common reason) is that the rescue group does not have a physical shelter and depends on foster homes to care for the animals. Also, it will help socialize the cat to a home environment so he can get used to being around different types of people and possibly other pets.

Before you decide to foster, you should know that it may be emotionally tough. It is easy to get attached to a foster cat and it will be difficult to let him go even though you know that he is going to a good place. You just have to constantly remind yourself that your foster pet will eventually find a happy home and he will be loved dearly by his forever family.
