We found a great article that teaches the top 10 ways to tell if your cat is unwell. The link is after our introduction.
According to catster.com, a cat reaches the approximate human age of 15 during its first year, then 24 at age 2. Each year thereafter, it ages approximately four ‘cat years’ for every calendar year. Thus, a 5-year-old feline would be approximately 36 in cat years.
Cats age much faster than humans but like humans, old age in cats also means higher risk of acquiring health problems. Similarly, cats can suffer from health problems throughout the course of their life. Your role here is to tend to them because (I do not know if you are aware of this) you are more than just a human friend to your feline pet. For her, you are a mother / father figure and a lifeline.
Quite obviously, cats cannot verbalize any discomfort or ill-feeling that they are suffering from. They may try but, well, it is not a very coherent attempt. A simple analogy: Think of your furry friend as a baby. When they do not feel good, they may cry but they cannot tell you specifically what is wrong. You need to know what to look for.
There is a simplified way to recognize the meaning of your cute friend’s peculiar attitude. If you know how to identify the signs that spell “need attention”, you can prevent the development of serious complications and also potentially trim down a big sum of health expenses and bills.
It’s also important to act swiftly and not delay. Serious diseases are often decent enough to give us hints before they unleash their full-blown attack. This means that if you are swift, you may save yourself from a lot of trouble. But if we do not pick on those hints when they first present themselves, things could become a lot more serious.
